It was a smooth process until we got to the physical with the doctors because there was only 1 doctor and there were probably 30-40 people he had to look at and I was one of the last people to go into his room. You still have to figure about 2 hours to process though. A scar from a long-ago injury isn't anything that would disqualify you from service. Here's my MEPS experience for anyone who wants to know or is going to MEPS soon and wants to see a recent experience. I have had to do an investigation at my former Recruiting Station Right now MEPS will pull pharmacy records. When I first met my recruiter, he told me that my height and weight were perfectly fine ( 5’9-/5’10 165ish at the time). I just want to make sure that I don't mess anything up or say/do anything I'll regret. Overall my day at meps started at 6am and I think I got out at 4pm. At 5:00 a. Recently, I had a general appointment to my doctor and they weighted me. LOL, no seriously, on the recruiter end we only see that you pass or fail medical, and the general reason for failing. I told the doc I didn’t take any medication for depression or anxiety at MEPS because the recruiter told me to do so. This means (as of 2024) every single Recruiter that has ever existed has lived by one thing; Deny, deny, deny. A PDQ is required to request a waiver. MROADS is a database meps can see prescription history for 7 years. I went to MEPS pretty recently and the only funny thing that happened was there was this older National Guard officer candidate (probably mid 30s) who was kind of a weird fellow to begin with, but also extremely boot saying things like affirmative and negative instead of yes and no (which irritated the fuck out of the staff) and other random Hollywood military lingo. The last thing I heard is that MEPS submitted my information to a third party, and it will take about five days to hear back. The next morning, David arrived at MEPS at 5:45am. When it came back, he went "You are goddamn gifted, Private Prestigious_Newt_335!" and told me to not disclose anything in MEPS and see what pops up for them and go from there. He straight up told me, everything is up to what happens at MEPS. At my MEPS, we try to do it while you're in the medical briefing. When I did MEPS it was fine. The number of seats per country is decided before each European election. Do not encourage lying. They get paid to do this for you. My only concern is that I had several “yes” answers on the 2807 that were automatic PDQs, but MEPS flagged only 1 of them. dont EVER teeter that line. 1. They said they would call me back in a few days to do it. Went to MEPS last monday/tuesday (may 20th & 21st) and got to the medical portion but they sent me home to review everything due to a few things genesis caught and I didn’t even get to go over my medical history with the doctor. And before anyone days it, yes I But yeah so alot of guess work during meps but according to the military I have 20/20 BUT since I also have glasses they still issues me glasses. I think they compete with the DMV for most callous employees. My concern would be someone going dressed too casual and being given shit by the staff there. He was ready for whatever the military could throw at him. Im mainly asking because I don't want to get DQed for fraudulent enlistment if they have something on my medical records that I forgot about. Yes absolutely lol. I always thought that weighting scale is always been accurate and it showed that I am 149 pounds which is 1 pound from the maximum weight I should be in. oh your good brother, i’ve been smoking for 5+ years and i stopped not even 4 weeks ago. correct me if I am mistaken, but under kind of the old way, you do sign a release, but it is rare for MEPS to check it since there are literally hundreds of hospitals that they have to get records from. Anything question you answer yes to on that medical questionnaire will likely require paperwork. Takes a couple weeks . I was set to attend MEPS 3/2/2022- 3/3/2022, but was flagged the day prior. They have me staying in a hotel the night before and have me getting up at 4:00 AM. But it’s been about 2 months since, and I’ve been bulking- close to 174. Now they are pulling Genesis before for everyone and cutting them at QRP if there is issues (which is what they should have been doing from the get). m. I did MEPs yesterday. you have little to no chance to change your MOS for the first 3-4 years in the army and normally you have to re-enlist for an MOS you want unless it's a packet MOS. Stop by and see what's going on in the fleet, or ask us a question you might have about the Coast Guard. I’ve already had a pap smear before MEPS so I didn’t need to get one there. MEPS timeline? I started the recruitment process in March 2024 and had to delay 3 months to clear the THC outta my system, during that time I gained too much weight to qualify, I need to be under 197 and I’m currently 215 Your initial MEPS appointment is pretty identical to enlisted. I'm 5"11 very sports like built and I was 217 pounds at meps way over weight they told me I was a go because I would lose the weight at basic training , went to basic and came out 189 pounds and have been maintaining my weight since then , I've been in a year now and have seen a shit ton of people get kicked out for being fat and over weight , they usually get a chance to go to this fat MEPS EXPERIENCE. Essentially, if you haven’t gone to MEPS yet, they will run you through Genesis for a pre-screen, and pull up all medical/prescription records on you from 75% of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, that share your records electronically. At MEPs the doctors had me request a waiver and it took up to 3 weeks. Normally when a person was 19 or 20 this would be a non issue as prospective SM had not taken the drug in over 5 years. Get a good night's rest and stay hydrated. Regardless, don't compound the issue by not reporting. Going to meps tomorrow and my medical exam part is Wednesday. Make sure you bring toothbrush and tooth paste. Just bring something nice to wear for MEPS tomorrow. An applicant going to meps has no way around this.
